Biography
Dr. Abdulaziz Zorgani is working as Professor at Medical Microbiology and Immunology Department, University of Tripoli, Libya. He is also Director of the laboratory at a private clinic in Tripoli, Libya. He is working as Consultant Microbiologist at the Abusalim Trauma Hospital, and the National Centre for Disease Control. He was awarded a letter of appreciation from the dean of Faculty of Medicine, University of Tripoli for recognition of his scientific research publications. He is handling several grants and has published 66 scientific articles, the majority are related to antibiotic resistance and health care associated infection. Prof Zorgani obtained a Diploma in Bacteriology (Dip Bact) and MSc degree from the department of pathological sciences at the University of Manchester. He received his PhD from the department of medical microbiology at the University of Edinburgh. He pursued his academic career by completing a postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, followed by a postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Institute of Child Health from the University of Birmingham. He has extensive teaching experience gained at the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tripoli, Lybia, where his main focus was on teaching medical microbiology and practicing clinical microbiology. He previously served as the head of the bacteriology unit at the Reference Laboratory of the National Centre for Diseases Control in Libya.
